Who Is Hoda Kotb’s Fianc Joel Schiffman? What To Know About The ‘Today’ Host’s Husband-To-Be – Women’s Health

Love is in the air today for Today co-host Hoda Kotb. After six years together, Hoda's longtime boyfriend Joel Schiffman asked her to marry him with a sweet beach proposal.

And although Joel just popped the question, he and Hoda have already been building a family together. ICYMI, the couple has been dating since since 2013 and are parents to two adopted daughters, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine.

"Im going to be with Joel until my last breath," Hoda previously told Andy Cohen during a September 2018 interview on Watch What Happens Live.

Here's everything you need to know about Joel Schiffman, Hoda Kotb's new fianc and love of her life.

The morning talk show host announced on Monday that her longtime boyfriend Joel Schiffman had finally popped the question. Hoda, 55, and Joel, 61, were having dinner on the beach when Joel made her an offer she couldn't refuse. Be my wife," Hoda recalled Joel asking.

My heart has literally been pounding, Hoda told her co-hosts. I was totally shocked. He had a good poker face.

Hoda and Today co-host Jenna Bush Hager's official Instagram account shared photos from the couples beach engagement, captioning the photo, "Best news ever Hoda is engaged!"

According to Hoda's soon-to-be-be hubby's LinkedIn, he works in finance. His official title is listed as Head of U.S. Defined Contribution and Insurance Sales at Schroder Investment Management. Not sure exactly what his job entails, but I'd say he's a pretty BFD.

Earlier this year, Hoda shared a sweet Instagram post of herself and Joel on their sixth anniversary. The two celebrated in the sweetest and most down-to-earth way, with a free concert from the New York Philharmonic in Central Park.

In a 2015 interview with People, Hoda called her relationship with Joel one of the most natural relationships she'd ever been in. "Im so happy, I really am. But you know sometimes you hate to jinx something. Im like, dont jinx it!" Hoda said.

"Hes a guy that gives me butterflies again at 50-years-old," she added. Awwww.

In an interview with Andy Cohen, Hoda said that she and Joel met at an "event I didn't want to go to." According to Hoda, it was thanks to her producer Joanne LaMarca Mathisen's husband that she met Joel. He's the one that convinced her to go to the event. (Sounds like the perfect premise for a wedding toast, just saying...)

"It was pouring rain. It was a bunch of Wall Street guys. I had to give a speech. They were bored..." Hoda explained. But she had to sign a few photographs before she could make an exit, and that's where Joel came in.

"Make it out to me," he said to Hoda asking for her autograph. When Joel left, Hoda slyly confirmed that the "Jewish gentleman," as she described him to Cohen, was single, and passed alongget thisnot her phone number, but her email address so they could chat. (Well played, Hoda.)

It was only three years ago that Hoda announced on Sirius XMs "The Hoda Show" that she would be moving in with Joel. Its a little weird to be in your 50s and were like Hey, were moving in! Hoda said. Its like were kids. Its so weird.

Before her relationship with Joel, Hoda was previously married to Burzis Kanga from 2005 to 2007 before getting divorced in 2008.

Its been so long since Ive lived with someone, Im a little concerned with menot him. Like how I am, as a human? You know, its not going to be easy for poor Joel, she said.

Hoda also admitted how nervous she was to tell her mom about moving in with Joel. I was afraid to tell my own mother that I was moving in with my boyfriend, she confessed. I was afraid. I dont why! I know it sounds weirdIve been married, its like whatever. Anyway, its all happening. Hocus pocus. Were shopping, were cohabitating. Its a little weird, right?

Clearly, she and Joel got used to living together because shortly after adjusting to cohabitation, they adopted their two daughters.

Hoda adopted the couple's eldest daughter, Haley Joy, in 2017 and their second daughter, Hope Catherine, this past April. But when Hoda first decided that she wanted to adopt kids, she was extremely nervous that Joel wouldn't feel the same. His reaction however, was priceless.

"I always wanted to have a child, and I wondered if Joel did, too," Hoda said in a Wendy Williams interview."I went to Joel and I said to him, 'I need to discuss something with you and it's really important,' and I said, 'And I want you to not answer me now. I want you to marinate, I want you to take a week... take as long as you need.'" That's when Hoda told Joel that she wanted to adopt a child together, and he quickly responded, "'I don't need a minute.'" That's when Hoda said, "I knew Id chosen the right man.

And since their adoption, Hoda has talked about how great of a father Joel is to all of his kids. He also has an older daughter, Kyle, from a previous marriage. "[He] has been so great," Hoda told People. "Hes such a great dad and a great influence."

Congrats to the happy couple!
