Easton man who allegedly held knife to pregnant womans belly as she drove is jailed in lieu of $100K bail – lehighvalleylive.com

A 22-year-old Easton man was jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail on Wednesday night nearly three weeks after Forks Township police say he held a knife to his pregnant girlfriends belly as she drove along Bushkill Drive.

Township officers were dispatched just before 5:30 p.m. May 2 to the 1100 block of Arndt Road for a domestic violence report and found a green Kia Soul with a flat right front tire, police said in court papers.

The woman in the car told them Christopher Jose Isaac-Torres, of the 100 block of North Seventh Street, held a knife to her throat, police said.

She recounted how Isaac-Torres got into her car without her permission and accused the four-and-a-half-month pregnant woman of cheating, police said. Isaac-Torres is aware hes the father of the unborn child, police said.

They argued as she drove on Bushkill Drive and Isaac-Torres grew angry that she wasnt driving him home, police said. He pulled out a pocket knife with a five-inch blade and held it to her neck as she drove, police said.

He then held it to her belly and insisted on a ride home, police said. At one point he tried to hit the gas and run over the woman when she was out of the car, police said.

Isaac-Torres got out of the car, slashed a front tire and left in another vehicle, police said.

Isaac-Torres was arrested this week on the Forks warrant during a traffic stop in Easton, authorities say.

Isaac-Torres was arraigned late Wednesday night before District Judge Nancy Matos Gonzalez on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief, records show. He remained jailed on Thursday morning, records show.

His preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled 9 a.m. June 3 before District Judge Jacqueline Taschner in Palmer Township.

Court papers dont list an attorney for Isaac-Torres.
