Police have filed charges against a Brockton man in connection with the shooting of his pregnant girlfriend.Thirty-year-old Amanda Holyoke, who is 27 weeks pregnant, suffered life-threatening injuries when she was shot in the head.Shaun Holiday, 26, was charged with murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, reckless endangerment to children and a handful of other charges in connection with the shooting. Detectives investigating the Sept. 8 shooting at 622 North Main Street, where a gunman shot a woman in the head, have identified and charged the man responsible, police spokesman Darren Duarte said in a written statement to the Brockton Enterprise on Tuesday.Brockton police responded to 622 North Main St. last Tuesday for the reported shooting. They found Holyoke and Holiday with gunshot wounds.Three children who were home at the time of the shooting were taken by ambulance to the hospital to be evaluated and were not injured during the incident. Its unclear if they witnessed the shooting.The victim and her baby are expected to survive.Holiday was also shot, and suffered a minor, non-life-threatening injury to the arm. Police have not said whether Holidays injury is believed to be self-inflicted whether accidental or intentional.Holiday was previously arrested following the shooting on an unrelated warrant related to an alleged probation violation.A spokesperson for the Massachusetts Probation Service said Holiday was placed on probation on Dec. 3, 2019, after he was convicted of trafficking fentanyl, distribution of a Class B drug and illegal possession of a Class B drug. His probation was initially scheduled to end after three years.Holiday will now face arraignment in Brockton District Court on the criminal charges related to the shooting.Information from the Brockton Enterprise was used in this report.
