The Loop: China and the United States join forces on climate, how to watch the national Remembrance Day service and US couple sue fertility clinic…

Hello. It's Thursday, November 11 and here's your quick news wrap to get you in the loop for today.

China and the United States have made a (somewhat unexpected) jointpledge to work together to combat climate change at the UN climate summit in Glasgow.

Their declaration includes plans to:

"We will jointly strengthen climate action and cooperation with respect to our respective national situations," Chinese climate envoy Xie Zhenhua says.

His US counterpart, John Kerry, says while the US and China have their differences, working together on this issue is imperative.

"Cooperation is the only way to get this job done, this is not a discretionary thing, frankly," he says.

"This is science, it's math and physics that dictate the road we have to travel. And we cannot reach our goals unless all of us work together."

Today is Remembrance Day.

People around the world will pause at 11am to remember those lost not only in World War I, but in all conflicts.

The Australian War Memorial will host the national ceremony this year youcan watch the broadcast live on the ABC from 10:45am AEDT this morning, or on the Memorial's Facebook page.

A couple in the US is suing a fertility clinic after a mix-up saw them spend months raising a child that wasn't theirs.

Daphna and Alexander Cardinale say theyhad immediate suspicions the girl she gave birth to in late 2019 wasn't theirs because of her darker complexion, but Daphna says they suppressed their doubts because they fell in love with the baby and trusted their doctors.

She says she was caused enduring trauma after learning, months later, thatshe had been pregnant with another couple's baby and another woman had been carrying her child.

The couplemade this statement, and it's pretty emotional:

Lawyer Adam Wolf, who represents all four parents involved, says the other couple want to remain anonymous but are planning a similar lawsuit.
