Paloma Faith pregnant with second child after fertility struggles and six rounds of IVF – Mirror Online

Paloma Faith is expecting her second child, following six rounds of IVF.

The singer, 39, took to Instagram on Thursday evening to share the happy news and to detail her journey to pregnancy.

The chart topping star - who welcomed her first child, a daughter, with her beau Leyman Lahcine in December 2016 - uploaded a stunning image that showed her cradling her blossoming bump alongside a lengthy statement.

In the message she opened up about her struggle to conceive and revealed that her pregnancy is "high-risk".

She began her post: "It is with extreme pleasure I announce I am pregnant. I am going to be releasing new music at this time and wanted to feel free in my body as it changes before all our eyes!

"I love my job and cant wait for you all to hear my 5th album and I will be out and about playing as much as this crazy time will allow (also a tour next year)."

She continued: "I am not a skinny pregnant person and I am also high risk in pregnancy so would like to ask the media not to run after me to get unflattering shots as anxiety is detrimental to me and my baby.

"I had a very traumatic first birth and I am also prone to postpartum depression.

"Being a mother is the greatest thing that's ever happened to me but I will swell up and I won't 'glow'! I intend to be very real about this with you all!

"To all the other pregnant women out there who are as in love with their babies as me but simultaneously s***ing themselves, let's do this".

In June Paloma explained on Instagram that she wished she had started her family sooner saying she would get pregnant in her 20s if she had a second chance at life.

Asked what age she would want to go back to, she said: Twenty eight, and Id have a baby because I think thats the perfect age to have a child.

I think I left it too late. I just think 28 is perfect because youve had enough of your twenties, youre not past it.

Once youve had it and your recovery time is like a year, youre still in your twenties and you can start rocking out and going at it career-wise at 29.

Paloma previously expressed concerns that her hopes of falling pregnant a second time were jeopardised by coronavirus.

She revealed earlier this year: I feel like, with this whole Covid thing, a lot of us that have done IVF, me included, probably aren't ... It's not looking great for another one right now.

Congratulations Paloma and Leyman!
