Find a feline friend at ‘Kitty Hall’ adoption event – Metro US

Depending on your political bent, you might be inclined to say that City Hall has gone to the dogs but on Thursday, itll be all about the felines for the first-ever adoption event put on by a New York City mayor.

To commemorate Adopt a Shelter Cat Month, Kitty Hall will run from 4:30-6 p.m. in City Hall Park and feature available kittens and cats.

The event is a joint effort between Mayor Bill de Blasios Community Affairs Unit, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Animal Care Centers of NYC and the ASPCA.

In addition to more cute kitties than you can probably handle, Kitty Hall will also provide attendees with information on foster and volunteer opportunities.

Heres what you need to know if youre interested in finding your fur-ever feline friend:

Adoption costs: $25-$125

Includes: Vaccinations, spay/neuter, testing for feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), pre-registered microchip, collar, ID tag and voucher for a free first exam at a participating vet

Adopters: Must be 18 or older with a photo ID and proof of current address.
